Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is proud to announce the winners of the 2025–2026 Renzulli Scholars award: PY3 students Aisha Alkilani, Christina Apostolopoulos, Emanuela Efidili, and Peter Kurta, and PY4 student Nashalie Moret-Vega.
Each year, the Renzulli Scholars program recognizes TUSP Doctor of Pharmacy students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, a commitment to service, and a dedication to their peers and the broader community. This year's scholars reflect the breadth of student leadership that thrives at TUSP, from student organizations, to peer mentorship, to global community outreach.
Christina Apostolopoulos credits her time at TUSP with shaping who she has become, pointing to the faculty who have invested in her growth and the classmates who have become lifelong friends.
"This award reflects the mentorship I've received from faculty and the meaningful friendships I've built with my classmates, which have shaped me into the leader I am today," she said. "TUSP has had a lasting impact not only on me, but also on my family, making it especially meaningful to give back to a community that has given me so much."
For Aisha Alkilani, the recognition is both humbling and motivating.
"Receiving the Renzulli Scholarship is truly an honor, and I'm incredibly grateful for the support and recognition from TUSP," she said. "It reinforces my passion for serving others through pharmacy and leadership, both within my school community and beyond."
Emanuela Efidili has channeled her passion for service into active leadership across multiple student organizations, including SNPhA, PLS, and PDC, and plans to keep her momentum going in the future.
"My leadership experiences have helped me grow as a leader while actively giving back to both my peers and the community," she said. "My plans for the future involve continuing to build upon the work I have done and empowering others around me to do the same."
Nashalie Moret-Vega, who will graduate at the end of this academic year, plans to return to Puerto Rico to pursue a career in community pharmacy while continuing her work in public health initiatives.
"This recognition reminds me that being yourself and doing everything with love and commitment truly matters, and that hard work never goes unnoticed,” she reflected. “It inspires me to continue leading with compassion, purpose, and a commitment to serving others."
Peter Kurta sees the award and the call of leadership as more than an honor; he views it as a challenge.
"I feel that any recognition of leadership is more than just a title or certificate, but a call to push oneself past their goals and expectations," he said. “Throughout my time at TUSP, my goal has been to help students feel supported and empowered to pursue their passions, and to face the challenges that lay beyond academic life.”
The Renzulli Scholarship is awarded annually to students who go above and beyond in their commitment to the school, their profession, and their communities. It was established in 2009 by Michael H. Renzulli, PHM ’63 and the MHR Family Foundation to provide scholarships for third and fourth year students enrolled in the School of Pharmacy with demonstrated financial need who have exhibited leadership and good academic standing.
